A world first from WEGOMA – The GL242P 3MS glazing bead saw sets new standards in window manufacturing

With the acquisition by Hecht AG, a new era begins for WEGOMA—and we’re kicking things off with an innovation that revolutionizes glazing bead cutting: the GL242P 3MS glazing bead saw.

It’s not just an upgrade.
It’s a completely new approach to cutting modern plastic profile systems.

Why this glass cutting saw is a true world first

The GL242P 3MS offers something that no other machine has yet combined in such a compact design and with such high quality:

👉 Mitre and straight cuts on ONE machine. A straight cut doesn’t just mean a 90° cut, but a cut of ±15° to compensate for the bevel.
👉 Without a change in allowances
👉 Suitable for mass production, fast, precise—and visually top-of-the-line

The ability to make flush cuts is particularly crucial today. Modern window systems are increasingly modeled after the design of aluminum windows:

  • angular
  • high-quality
  • clean lines

Leading manufacturers such as Aluplast with its new Energeto neo series, Rehau with its new Artevo glazing beads, and Gealan with its Kontur series are fully committed to an aluminum look and flush-cut glazing beads. However, the glazing beads do not have a 90° bevel; instead, depending on the system, they range from 75° to 89°. To ensure the glazing beads can be fitted flush, they must not be cut at a 90° angle, but rather at a slight bevel. At the same time, you still want to cut your traditional systems, for which you need a high-performance 45° glazing bead saw.

A flat glazing bead fits perfectly with this look—and at the same time solves a common problem with small sashes:

✔ Improved appearance
No visible miter joint—the flush edge looks as if it were cast in one piece.

✔ Simpler glazing of small sashes
Wide, rigid glazing beads are very difficult to bend.
The blunt cut completely eliminates this problem.

No wonder so many well-known profile system manufacturers already recommend this type of glazing.

What makes the GL242P 3MS so special

Precise angle adjustment – manual or servo-driven

A handwheel (optionally motorized) makes it easy to simulate the contact pressure of the glass and adjust the angle of attack accordingly.

The result: A perfect fit. Every time.

State-of-the-art technology for high-end quality

Four compelling reasons

Cut quality

  • Two powerful 1-kW flat motors
  • 300-mm carbide-tipped saw blades (+150 mm extension blade)
  • High feed rate at the sawtooth for tear-free cutting — even in the gasket

A straightforward design with an innovative twist

An additional unit enables a blunt cut, including:

  • Swivel range 90° ±15°
  • Servo-controlled swiveling to compensate for the profile slope
  • Use the same allowances as for a 45° cut
  • 2 additional 300-mm saw blades

This gives the GL242P 3MS a matte finish that is unique on the market.

Maximum process reliability

  • Glass Sealing Simulation
  • Perfect tension at the base of the strip
  • Saw feed via flat guides
  • Motor positioned from above → Sections fall automatically downward
  • Catch channel

Quick-change system for attachments
